This is such the cutest idea for any party. I really love the "Pimp my cupcake" idea, it gives the guest a chance to be interactive.

Beauty Salon Beatdown *Extended Version*

Global Grind - Beauty Salon Beatdown *Extended Version*

So the bogus & ignorant person in me has to laugh and then I look in disgrace as I see the people in the shop watching and not doing a thing.

As you look at this remember the lady who's getting whooped is the owner of the shop and the people standing around are her customers.

Now her customers and co-workers are just standing around watching and video taping this as it goes on for 6 minutes. In those 6 minutes no one tries to break it up as they are double teaming her, someone only says "one at a time", I guess that makes it fair. HA!!

To standby and watch that happen to someone you know personally without doing anything is heartless, anyone who knows me knows that as soon as the first punch was thrown I would be on the phone calling 911. Yes I am that person, and by the time she was bent over I would have to step in cause I just can't let someone go out like that.

I can say she took a few licks and keeping on talking, stood her ground (even though her feet wasn't on it all the time) and still tried to check them in the end.

This was funny, sad and bogus. They dog walked her and her peoples just stood by and watched.

Damn!!! What can you say.....

What the Hell?? Lil Wayne - Whip It Like A Slave (FIREEEEEE)

YouTube - Lil Wayne - Whip It Like A Slave (FIREEEEEE) + DOWNLOAD

What in the hell are we coming too when our Top Artist are putting out songs titled "Whip it like a Slave"???

As I heard this snippet on the Morning Riot (Chicago, 107.5) I felt like I was in a dream. "Are you serious???"

I just had to call in because this was unbelievable. What is wrong with our babies?? They don't care about themselves, their community, family, history or anything. I am at a loss yall, what do we do when crap like this is at their finger tips and they are being rebellious and not wanting to listen to us help guide them.

He has too much influence over our children to put crap like this out. I really like Wayne's beats, but now I have to tune him out. And yall know that hard when he is everywhere on every station. I was listening to a rock station one night and he was featured on a song. You can't get away from him!!!

But really what can we do to save our babies from a life of ignorance??? Now I am not talking about the ones raised with good, decent parents but the ones without that, the ones on the corners, the ones who mother has to work 2-3 jobs to keep them going and can't spend the time needed to guide that child. What do we do???????

Let's Support Us

I have a friend from High School that sent me an email awhile back, it read.............

Good Day Everyone!

Please be advised that this is not your typical email chain. In the course of planning and researching wedding options, an idea was incited that could potentially benefit everyone who is interested in expanding their mind, business and brand. What we are asking for is simple and can be explained more at:

www.ouronedollarwedding.com

Remember, exposure and a positive attitude to succeed is required to obtain any goal. As this email travels throughout the world, your business, website, blog, ideas, etc. has the potential to reach millions. So why not give it a try?

Please remember to forward this email along to family, friends, and business owners.

Thank you for your support.

Kelli & Patrice

Now I must say this is extremely inventive and a great idea I may use one day. I love how she has pooled her resources and decided to think out of the box and set the pace for their dream wedding. Now I had to support, I have even gave her basically free Wedding Day Consulting Services because I can't help but support people who take their destiny into their own hands and provide positive example for others.

I look at this as a great example for their daughter and the effect it may have on her, to show that nothing can stand in the way of your dreams unless you let it. I see this as you don't always have to follow the engraved path filled with holes that may make you turn around, sometimes you may have to get a little dirty by walking on the side that's a little muddy.

I wanted to take a moment to applaud her and the example she is setting. So lets support and the min. it will cost you is $1.oo.

Love & Blessings

Chicago Black Businesses- Farmers Best 47th Bishop

I am someone who loves to patronize my own whenever possible and I guess because we are blessed with the shortest month to celebrate our heritage this is when I get tons of emails requesting to support or informing me of businesses that I was not aware of.

So to help out my fellow business owners I will attempt to do a weekly or monthly tribute to businesses that I am aware of and will vouch for their services.

First to my fellow entrepreneurs I would love to share some tips that I myself am faulty of not doing at times.

  1. Respect the customer, without them we have nothing. Make sure you are open at the time you state and have set business hours if you don't already.

  2. Train your employees. I hate to visit an establishment and the employees are talking to each other and can clearly see me, look me in my face, but continue their conversation cause it's just too important for them to stop and do their job to provide service.

  3. Keep your standards up. I often see business that are wonderful and I tell everyone I know about them, then a month or two later their food is horrible, their customer service has fallen way off. You must always strive to be the best, the Chicago market is over saturated for you to neglect your standard of service.
Now to my new favorite Black Owned Business.

Farmers Best
Bishop Plaza
1424 W. 47th St.

Farmers Best is the only African-American full service grocery store in Illinois, I received an email last week informing me to take some time and visit the store.

Now I do small group catering and had a catering event on Friday night so i decided to stop by to see what they had to offer.

When I walked in I was amazed at their quality and quantity of various produce items (this is what welcomes you into the store). I was floored to see real whole coconuts in Chicago in February looking fresh as ever.

They have wonderful prices I walked out with a tab of $75.oo for meats & produces that would have ran me about $150 else where. They have a great selection of meats also. I will say their non-perishable selection and quantity is not comparable to Jewel or any other big name but the prices are much better.

That night I purchased parsley & Bisquick, now at FB the parsley was $.59 and the Bisquick was $3.49 (not sale prices). Now right after, I took a trip over to Jewel and their parsley was $1.96 and the Bisquick was $5.49. Now that is a difference worth me traveling outside of the neighborhood.

The service was also wonderful, the only sad thing was that there was not alot of customers in the store. So with this I do request that next time you need to go grocery shopping please head over to 47th & Bishop to visit Farmers Best and support a great store with a wonderful selection.

Peace & Blessings,

Tiffany
